My name is Edmund Woodward. I am a freelance sculptor and technical artist. Growing up in Bristol, I attended the Waldorf Steiner School, which is heavily dependent in art as a way of teaching. My main interests lie in sculpting, model making and mold making. I have a strong interest in film and enjoy learning how effects are made.
In my final year of my BA(hons) Technical Arts and Special Effects degree at Wimbledon Collage of Art, I had developed a keen interest in Japanese history and culture. I have always been fascinated in Japanese films from an early age and fear that my interest has now become an obsession. My final year degree sculpture enabled me to develop this interest into my work. The end product being an interpretation of a particular samurai character depicted in Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai (Shichinin no Samurai).
